Groupswim

I’ve been using Groupswim at work for about 3 months and it’s been great, but today they changed the game.  It went from a community tool to a full blown collaboration tool.  They have added the ability to upload docs and have them fully search-able.

Typically we store the whole companies collective knowledge in GS but now we can add all our documentation as well.  Great job guys!

Google App Engine

Got the invite to join the early test stages of the Google App Engine.  Checking it out now, but already blew one of the 3 apps that you get to develop.  I’ll be checking out all the cool functionality, but I guess the challenge is now to test how this stacks up against AWS.  One thing off the top, Python only and “all-in-one” on the Google side.  I do like the notion of AWS and impartiality.

We shall see.  Check my twitter stuff for updates.

Kindle to arrive

Wow this is an amazing thing. I ordered my Kindle on March 3rd and it is scheduled to arrive in 2 weeks. From the email:

We now have estimated delivery dates for the Kindle order you placed
on 3/3/08. We are now estimating that your Kindle will arrive between 4/14/2008 and 4/21/2008. We’ll contact you again to let you know when your order is shipped.

This must be a good thing for Amazon’s stock price. A $400 item that is 6 weeks backlogged. If you haven’t seen, or tried, the kindle; think ipod for books only the store is accessible from anywhere you can get a cell signal. Sony iBook reader RIP.

Sedona Arizona

Is a cool place.  It’s a nice change to fly here from NYC, the sky is so big.  I’ve got to post a pic in the morning.

The flight from NYC however was crazy long, I was on a plane for over 7 hours.  The wind was right in our face and made the flight over 6.5 hours.  Crazy bad, at least this place is relaxing.  I get to chill before my standards org meets tomorrow.

Good food

There really is nothing like a good fresh made Italian meal with a great wine.  I guess my travel cities are not bad for stuff like this.

  • Home - SF
  • New York
  • London
  • Chicago
  • Tokyo
Now, how do you deal with the security line.  I’m going to sign up for the clear card
